I believe in playing for the song and often take a less is more approach. But sometimes, the music calls for a more progressive approach. The following samples show both extremes of the two approaches.

The music I recorded recently with Keith Mitchell has a very different approach than what I normally do. Instead of straight ahead rock, this music called for a progressive chops approach. The following are two clips are taken from the initial rough mixes.
